My Anthem – Scars To Your Beautiful
I believe that everyone has their own anthem. By anthem I mean a song that describes their life or personality…basically it’s just you. My anthem happens to be “Scars to Your Beautiful” by Alessia Cara. If you haven’t heard this song I highly recommend checking it out.
Background on Scars to Your Beautiful
This song is all about body image and young girls. Alessia describes all the artificial standards that women (and men) face daily. Whether it’s through the media or our everyday lives, we can’t escape the pressure of society’s expectations on how we should look. We are constantly trying to find something wrong with ourselves. Constantly looking for something that we need to change. It’s exhausting. Alessia didn’t like society’s message, so she created this song to remind everyone to block out all the noise and appreciate yourself in hopes of reminding everyone of their own beauty.

Why this is my anthem
I have a mission in life to make everyone feel as beautiful as possible. I truly believe that everyone is full of beauty and greatness. Sometimes we just need a little reminder. One of the lines in Alessia’s song says, “So to all the girls that’s hurting, let me be your mirror, help you see a little bit clearer. The light that shines within.” Relates to every message I’ve ever wanted to send. I want to be everyone’s mirror. I want to be what helps each of you find your inner beauty, show you why it’s so important to love yourself. There is only one of you, so make that person worth it. I know the greatest beauty comes from within each and every one of you.
